Making the Best Choice

Posted by Randy Renninger at Friday, November 10, 2017

What is a choice?  Dictionary.com defines choice as “an act or instance of selection when faced with two or more possibilities”.  As business owners and entrepreneurs, sometimes the choice is easy and is made swiftly and quickly.  Other times the choice is difficult or seemingly impossible and we agonize or procrastinate over what choice is best.  Examples of a difficult choice might be hiring the right employee, selection of 401k investment options or taking your business to the cloud.  Choices can be difficult due to our limited knowledge in the area we are choosing.  Additionally, each choice we make is at the expense of another option we could have chosen.
Assurance of making the best choices creates unwanted stress and robs us of time better spent growing our business.  The question we should be asking is “How do we make the best choice?”  One way would be to make choices that match our Company’s core values and core focus.  Focusing on what defines us and our company will help us weed out and eliminate many options so the best choice can be made.  A second way to help us make the best choice is to seek advice from a trusted professional who has more knowledge in the area of choice we are making.  Attorney’s, accountant/CPA and a business mentor can help give us the needed expertise to make the best choice.
We make choices every day and some are harder to make than others. Having the proper focus and knowledge to make the best choice will help eliminate stress and wasted time.
Are you making the best choices?
